Step 1
Click on the appropriate button to search the Words or Terms list.
Words: this search will give you a list of titles containing the word you enter in the Find box from anywhere in the title.
Terms: for this search you must enter into the Find box.the first words (or first few characters) of the title (term) you want. You must also choose between term or word searches in the AUTHOR and SUBJECT fields.

Step 2
Where available, choose the field you want to search. In this catalogue only the AUTHOR field gives you options. In the TITLE, SERIES TITLE and SUBJECT fields the system has selected for you the field most likely to contain your search term. This is a limited search and if you cannot find the item you want, try a keyword or phrase search.
However, the AUTHOR field is an exception. This offers you several fields to search. The first one is the ME (Main Entry) and is a list of first authors, either personal or corporate.
If the person you are looking for is not the first author or you want to search under the name of the organisation which sponsored the research, you will also need to check using the search field AE (Added Entry). If the publication was linked to a conference, the fields MEC (Main Entry Conference) or AEC (Added Entry Conference) should be highlighted.

Step 3
Scroll down the Choices list to find the item you want OR

Step 4
Insert the first word or first few characters of, for example a title, in the Find box and click "Go to" for a Terms search. If you have highlighted the Words list you can add a word from anywhere in the title.

NB Authors are entered with the surname first.

Step 5
Highlight the selected item and click "Paste" to paste the selected item from the Choices List into a box on the search screen. You can paste more than one item. Then click Close to return to the Search screen..
